Doug Kreps, CFA – Principal and Managing Director
“We don’t get caught up in the latest trend, chasing opportunities based on emotion. Loss avoidance is much more important than gain capture.”
Clients rarely think about a firm’s operations,
until something goes wrong. Doug Kreps’
days are spent making sure that doesn’t
happen at Fort Pitt Capital Group.
“Operations and compliance issues carry
the same weight here as do sales, client service,
and investment strategy,” Doug explains.
“We end up succeeding by doing the basic
blocking and tackling that many other firms ignore.”
In addition to overseeing operations, Doug also
performs analysis of mutual fund selections and
asset allocation. He joined the firm in 1995 and
serves as Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee and Board of Directors . His career
in financial services began in 1991, when he worked
with another regional investment firm.
The graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick,
Maine, lives in the North Hills of Pittsburgh
with his wife, Connie, and their two children.
He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation
and is a member of the Pittsburgh Society of Financial
Analysts.
