Kim Caughey – Vice President and Senior Analyst
“Making sure we’re buying low and selling high means we can run portfolios that make people money and that make people happy.”
It’s a jungle out there when it comes to analyzing stocks, but Kim Caughey knows the terrain better than most.
“I try really hard to find out what’s
true, and form my opinion based on facts, not
wishes or beliefs,” Kim says. “We
want to take the emotion out of this. We take
a longer focus than a lot of our competitors,
but clients in the long-term are better off.”
Kim works closely with Charlie Smith to formulate
and implement investment policy and strategy for
the Fort Pitt Capital Group, drawing from a diverse
career in computer science, finance, and investment
analysis. Her prowess was recognized nationally
in 2002, as Kim was named the #2 software analyst
by The Wall Street Journal, and the following
year as Starmine.com named her the nation’s
#3 software analyst.
The University of Pittsburgh alumna, earning
both her bachelor’s degree and MBA there,
lives in Pittsburgh. She joined Fort Pitt Capital
Group in 2005.
