Year-end investment outlook

On the heels of a recent Goldman Sachs announcement – forecasting a high probability of a 10 percent market drop come 2014 – Charlie Smith appeared on Fox Business to discuss year-end market projections and where he thinks the economy is headed over the next few months. Chatting with hosts Connell McShane and Dagen McDowell, Charlie explained that the market hasn’t experienced a 10 percent correction in over 25 months. “It’s not a requirement, but if we are to see a drop, and since we are value investors, we’d see it as a chance to buy companies that we’ve been waiting to buy most of this year. We have a 3-5 year horizon at a minimum and we’d see the chance here to put some money to work.”
