There’s a new face at Fort Pitt! Linda Miller recently joined our team as a retirement plan specialist. For this edition of employee spotlight, we chatted with Linda about her job, her family and her travels. Read on to learn about one of our newest employees!
What are your main responsibilities day-to-day?
I am a retirement plan specialist. Most of my job is working with plan sponsors and plan participants. I help the participants with rollovers and distribution. I help the plan sponsors on new startup plans or conversions. I enjoy the fact that even though I’m not client facing, I still get to talk to clients on the phone and communicate with them.
What brought you to Fort Pitt?
I was working at another financial services company in Pittsburgh when Fort Pitt started to rapidly grow and needed to expand. The job here was a perfect fit, and I was very impressed with how Fort Pitt was represented in the industry.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
I’m definitely a family centered person, so any time spent with my husband and my daughter is always a plus. In the summer we like to get outside and enjoy the weather, and my husband and I always try to catch a couple Steelers games throughout the year.
What are your summer travel plans?
My family and I are going to Myrtle Beach for a week with friends of ours. Normally I am not a “sit outside all day” kind of person, except if I’m at the beach, and then I can go from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We’ll also take the kids to the boardwalk for an evening.
What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled to?
Iceland! My mom and I visited when my brother was stationed there with the Air Force. Driving around the country, there’s beautiful greenery, mountains, glaciers, and waterfalls all around you. Also, in Iceland I had the best fish and chips I’ve ever had because the fish was fresh and just brought in two hours prior to the meal.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, we recently adopted a dog named Ollie. He is eight months old and is a hound mix. Our daughter loves that we rescued him.
